Dr. Gavan O'Shea receives Outstanding Alumni Award

Dr. Gavan O’Shea  received the College of Science Outstanding Recent Alumni  Award from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech). The award is granted annually to a person who graduated in the past 10 years. Gavan was nominated by the Department of Psychology. He earned his PhD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology in 2002.

During the first 10 years of his career, Gavan has published research articles on topics ranging from leadership to commitment to validation methodology to quality of care. He has also directed a variety of applied research projects, including development of video-based leadership competency assessments, development of a competency model for U.S. Army Brigade Commanders, and a large-scale job analysis study focusing on jobs in the electric utility industry.

Gavan joined HumRRO in June 2006 and is currently a senior staff scientist in the Assessment Research & Analysis program. He works in HumRRO’s Louisville, KY office.
